SECBIT - Security, Education and Competence for Bavarian IT
The project aimed at strengthening research, user training and education as core aspects of the partnership IT security in Lower Bavaria and the Upper Palatinate. The focus of the project lay on the productive collaboration with small and medium-sized IT companies in the region as part of research and development projects and IT security consulting. The IT security partnership with its sub-projects ensured that the overall IT infrastructures of companies became more stable, energy efficient and safe.
The acronym of the project - SECBIT - stands for "Security, Education and Competence for Bavarian IT", which main focus is the strengthening of research, user training and education as core aspects of the partnership IT security in Lower Bavaria and the Upper Palatinate. The European Union supported the joint project of the Universities of Passau and Regensburg and the University of applied sciences of Regensburg in the context of the European Regional Development Fund (EFRE) with € 2.3 million, the project partners additionally raised thesame amount from their own funds.
