Research
A major focus of research is on aspects of de-fragmentation of mathematical knowledge and talent/giftedness & creativity. Another current research interest is digital media comined with traditioanl contents and methods. This includes the project SMiLE, which deals with the use GeoGebra on smartphones and digital tools in lessens and exams at schools, as well as the Digital Interactive Mathematical Maps, which are used in higher and university education as an innovative teaching and learning tool by showing aspects of history of mathematics as guiding paths through the world of mathematics in a digital-visual way; elements from Narrative Didactics support the latter for use in classroom. Further information on the topics and projects can be found in the "Research" and "Projects" sections.
Teaching
At the Professorship for Didactics of Mathematics, regular lectures and seminars are held as well as internships for students of different school types are supervised. In addition, students can also write their final thesis (Bachelor, Master, admissions thesis) on current research questions and school-oriented topics.
