Virtualization in the Home Networking Environment – Design and Evaluation
EU-Project (NoE, FP6 Call4 (IST 028022))
Aims
The home network should be seen as one of the main "access networks" to the future Internet. Therefore, virtualization of home network resources, while having been largely neglected so far, must be seen as a key technology of the future Internet. The project has two major aims:
- Propose a P2P architecture for virtualization of future home environments including an economic model and a concept for assuring availability and security.
- Evaluate the virtualization approach in terms of system availability and QoS provided, (using the Markov chains calculated by the resources/hosts), etc.
