Summary
OpenC³S, supported by the BMBF challenge "Aufstieg durch Bildung: offene Hochschulen", is the largest basic and advanced education initiative in German-speaking countries in the area of cyber security. Renowned universities all over the Germany aim at developing programs for online studies and online certificates in the area of cyber security. This concept shall enable working professionals to acquire additional scientific qualification and academic degrees and certificates additional training. Students may get credits for their vocationally acquired competencies after appropriate analysis. Besides enhancing transfer between vocational and academic advanced education in the area of IT security the term "Open" also stands for opening the admission to academic education without traditional university entrance qualification.
