Topic Assignment Request
from the Board of Examiners
Master's students in advanced semesters who have completed their credit-point requirements and compulsory seminars may request from the Board of Examiners to have a thesis supervisor and topic assigned to them if they have been unable to succeed on their own within a reasonable time frame. Please note that this should be a measure of last resort to be applied only after all feasible attempts have failed.
The assignment of a topic will only be conducted if all of the conditions below are met. Whereas the thesis topic to be assigned is chosen based on the student's primary focus area, there will not be any choice of supervisor or topic. Assigned theses can only be accepted or rejected. If a student chooses not to accept the topic assigned to him or her, no additional assistance will be provided by the Board of Examiners.
To submit a request, please complete the form below and provide details of all your efforts during the past 3 months. If you communicated with scientific employees instead of professors directly, you must list the names of the employees in addition to the professors for whom they work. Please upload PDF copies of all the corresponding e-mail threads. If someone did not respond, you should provide a copy of your message(s) to that person.
The completion of form fields marked with asterisks (*) is indispensible for submission.
